Visit by HRH The Princess Royal 2009
In January 2009 Queensferry was honoured by a visit from HRH The Princess Royal and one of the local groups chosen to meet with her was The Loony Dook. The images below show representatives from those who have been involved with The Loony Dook over the years. Two of them, Iain "Rambo" Armstrong and Jim MacKenzie have taken part in every one of the 23 Dooks since 1987, Pete Jackson has also been involved since the very beginning but has missed one or two years due to work commitments. Also shown in the photos are Pete's granddaughter Nikki who first took part when she was eight years old; David Steel who has helped organise the event and Morag Goulden who has taken part on two or three occasions raising thousands of pounds for the "Help a Child" appeal. Princess Anne was accompanied by Lord Provost George Grubb and Community Council Chairman Tom Martin.
